Background:
G32 stands for a Group of 36 Cooperative Societies in the Kilimanjaro area. It was officially registered in 2003, that’s why the name remained ‘G32’ even though it has grown over the years. The average Cooperative Society within G32 has 500 smallholder farmers which have between 1 and 1.5 acres. There is a Management Committee with 36 members, one representing each Cooperative. They get elected for 3 years, being able to reelect once again. They produce around 640 – 1100 MT of clean coffee every season.
