Ubaque is a municipality of Cundinamarca Department located in Oriente province. This province is 50km east of Bogata in the foothills of three mountains – the Guayacundo, the Fifth and San Pedro.
The name of the town comes from a bush of red sap – Ybaquye, which means blood of wood. This area was ruled by the indigenous Chied Ebaque of the Muisca civilization. The coffee comes from UBACAFE – an association of coffee farmers from 43 families living in 11 rural districts.
