This coffee is produced by the Nasa Wesx indigenous community. The Nasa Wesx live in different indigenous territories in Cauca, Huila and Tolima. This community has been part of ASOPEP (Asociacion De Productores Ecologicos De Planadas)since 2014. The organisation is in Tolima and works to look after the different farmers in the association. Most of whom work 2-3 hectares. ASOPEP does things like organising organic certification and overseeing farmer welfare.
Gaitania is located 40km southwest of the remote town of Planadas, Tolima. Coffees from this region are known to be citric and fruity.
