APAS – The Alto da Serra Producers’ Association was founded in 1996 by a group of
small producers aiming to improve their production conditions and quality.
Traceability, good agricultural practices and sustainability are the main pillars. Every
year, their members are amongst the winning farms at the Brazil CoE (Cup of
Excellence).
This outstanding coffee is result of the region’s micro-climate: rainy during summer
and dry during ripeness and harvesting periods. Mantiqueira is a mountainous area,
which inhibits the use of machines, so coffee is selectively hand-picked.
