Description
The Expobar Minore has a excellent track record for being an affordable twin boiler espresso machine with excellent temperature control and stability.
It boasts a traditional E61 lever group head which weighs 4.2Kg and is completely made of brass and has been chrome plated.
The dual 1.5 litre boiler system has a large element in each boiler of 2000watts, the largest boiler capacity to element wattage in its class.
That means loads of steam power and a quick heat up time. Both boilers are insulated to help reduce heat loss.
Boiler construction is of copper and brass which has been proven for its reliability, strength and durability.
One boiler is for producing steam, hot water and to pre-heat the water entering the brew boiler via a heat exchanger.
This boiler (steam boiler) is controlled by a pressure stat that can be adjusted up to 1.4 bar steam pressure for more steaming power. (Machine comes set at 1 – 1.1 bar)
The brew boiler is dedicated to maintaining the perfect temperature of water for the brewing process. It does this with its PID temp controller which can be set very easily to the desired extraction temp for the origin or blend of coffee you are using. The PID controller minimises the temp swing by pulsing the brew boiler element to maintain the set temperature.
The machine comes standard with a vibrating pump and is fitted with a pump pressure regulator which is adjustable externally. (Comes set at 12bar)
Note that a plumbed-in, rotary pump version is available on request. Please contact us for details.
The Minore IV is a small upgrade over the III, being the addition of a blue-coloured LED for the boiler PID and the addition of a a switch to allow you to turn the steam boiler off.
As with the other Expobar models, the Minore has two taps: one for hot water to make tea or long blacks, and one for steam. The steam wand is a no burn steam design.
The body is made of 2mm thick stainless steel for strength.
The large drip tray means you don’t have to empty it all the time.
The water reservoir has a capacity of 2750mls.
The front panel features both a steam pressure gauge and pump pressure gauge. The Minore III has a new main switch which fits more to the styling and era of the lever groups and has smaller feet to give it a lower profile.
